The Wonders of Spirit

I have been working as a medium for over two decades and even after all this time, I’m am still amazed what those in the Spirit World can bring through to comfort a loved one here as well as the wisdom they impart to us!

Recently I was in Chicago for an afternoon lecture and had a wonderful time with the audience and with those who made themselves known from Spirit. There was plenty of laughter as well as tears. I always say, “I never know what is going to happen or how they are going to come through, but those in the Spirit World know how to get my attention to say exactly what I am being given.”

As I walked back and forth on the stage, I kept hearing the word “Valentine” and knew this was the start of a message. I walked to where I was directed and asked, “Does someone in this section know anyone with the last name Valentine?” When I said that special word a woman gasped! Now, I thought it was a last name, and didn’t want to be general with such a common word. The woman stood up and said that she lost a daughter and they always sang “My Funny Valentine” to each other. I knew her daughter passed suddenly and unexpectedly. Many validations came through from how she passed, to letting the mother know of specific things that she sees in Spirit regarding her family still here. This information was proof to her that her daughter still sees and is connected to what’s going on with her family here in the physical world, and I must say that the smile this mom had on her face when she came up to the book signing was worth the whole trip to Chicago!

As I continued with my Mediumship demonstration, I came to a young woman who lost her mom. I could feel the love of her mom reaching out through me to her daughter. Since I lost my mom almost two years ago, every time a mother comes through with love for their child, I feel that love and special bond, and I too am granted a gift by experiencing that energy of compassion and love! As I continued with the message, her mom kept giving me scenes of New Orleans and flashbacks of when I went to Mardi Gras there many years ago. New Orleans has always held a special place in my heart – so much so that I have been there three times over the years.

I said to the young woman, “Have you been to New Orleans?” because your mom is reminding me of my wonderful experiences there, and she’s showing me Mardi Gras beads. She put her hand to her mouth as the tears welled up in her eyes, and then she shared this with me and the entire audience: “In five days I am flying to New Orleans to celebrate my bachelorette party with my closest friends!”

Spirit will always draw on my personal databank of information to get their messages across, using my memories, experiences or anything I have ever studied to get me to say what they’re sending me. Sometimes I’m amazed with what comes through to let their loved ones here know they still love them and see what’s going on in their lives.

Before I stepped off the stage I asked one final question to the whole audience: “How many here are not speaking to a family member or friend because of an argument or something else that happened between the two of you?” I wasn’t surprised to see many many hands go up in response to this question. I have learned after doing this work for so many years, that life is too short and you never know what’s going to happen from one day to the next. I’ve heard many times from those in Spirit that “love” is what’s most important, and frequently those on the Other Side try to encourage forgiveness, and to enjoy your time together while you are here, so you never ever have any regrets!

John’s Lesson

Forgiveness is always about choice. When we forgive, we can get back to loving ourselves, and start to vibrate at a higher level though our heart center and attract love. Forgiving someone is not a sign of weakness, and actuality, it’s a sign of pure spiritual strength.

Is there someone in your life you want to make amends with? As I have said many times, “Life is too short, and maybe you could make the first move.” I always recommend that you send a card or letter saying, “Can we work this out? I hope so.” You never know what may happen. If it’s been years since you’ve spoken, it could be possible that you can’t even remember why you were angry with each other in the first place!

You may get a positive response or you may not even get a reply, but at least you tried, and you will never have to say, “I could have, would have or should have.”

Give it a try. The act of forgiveness in its own right is incredibly powerful, and it has the capacity to heal and transform.
