Filtering Out The Impurities Of Life

By Hattie Mattie Mae

Balancing our souls we find the pureness of life by filtering out the impurities of the world.

We can focus too much of our attention on the outer worlds messages of who we are internally.

We have to learn to strip away the old self, the belief systems that hold us back, the false beliefs that we once believed about ourselves and become new beautiful creatures.

Every thought we hold inside of us, represents how we see ourselves in every moment. We see with our physical eyes, yet there is another world of ourselves to see with our spiritual eyes. We are constantly looking outward to the outside world, yet we can also look within ourselves. We believe what we see is truth yet, behind the scenes there is so much more going on in the moment.

What we hear with our physical ears we perceive as truth as we go around hearing whatever is being broadcast outside of ourselves as we pass by many sources of information.  We have the ability to hear the elegance of a cello, versus the sound of busy traffic crossing the street. We have the ability to hear the smallest pin drop on tile ceramic floor. Sounds are everywhere we go, and the sound of life versus death hits our ear drums when we hear someone yelling or screaming. We hear the happiness of laughter, or the crying sound of a baby’s first entrance into the world. We can miss communicate what we really mean by the sound of our own voice. We can uplift another soul by reading inspiring words out loud. We can dance in our hearts or with our feet to music of hearing that someone loves us. Our spiritual hearing rises and falls as it mixes with two worlds bringing us even more precise and in depth awareness of sound.

We can feel the vibration of love or hate. We can feel the energy through our souls whether someone is really truthfully someone we can connect with on a soul level. We feel much more than we want to admit spiritually. We feel spiritually what is dangerous and allow our hearts and not our minds to navigate us through the many mazes and obstacles in life. We must trust our own intuition, our own inner compass. We feel our way through the dangers of society as well as the safety zones. We feel physically whether something is hot or cold. We can feel whether something is rough or soft. We feel life through a hug, and the gentle touch of a kiss.

We can smell the beauty of life from a fresh cut rose. Its breath lingers through the air. We can smell the sourness of rotten milk. We can smell the fragrance of a wonderful scented perfume. We can smell life, and we can also smell the strong stench of death. Smell no matter what it may be lingers in the air.

We have the opportunity to taste the most amazing sweet or dry wine. We can taste the sourness of a fresh squeezed lemon. We can taste the weather something is fresh or whether something is old and rotten. We can taste how cold the winter is by a falling snowflake that we catch on the tip of our tongues. We can taste the sting of hot tea as hits our mouth.

We have been give many senses to use, yet most of the time we don’t quiet ourselves enough into the moment throughout the day to appreciate the treasures we’ve been given.  Perhaps at times we take it for granted that we have the ability to use all of our senses. Helen Keller could not hear or see, but only feel, smell, and taste. How powerful it must have been to learn a language with only three senses and still be able to be filled with love and express it so clearly speaking only from her inner silence.

Finding joy in our own inner silence, we become peaceful regardless of what the external world may have going on outside of us. We must find joy and peace within ourselves.

  • I apply something like the vision you offer here, in viewing and understanding and engaging with autistic children, in an educational setting.
They can then struggle to manage filtering across the dynamics and exigencies you speak of; and peaceful balancing of self across that filtering remains a huge challenge.
