Are You Dating A Sociopath?

Is there something about your partner that feels “off”?  Could you be in a relationship with a sociopath?

Sociopathic Relationship Basics | The Complete Guide

According to the Urban Dictionary,  sociopaths are individuals with an antisocial personality disorder. It is probably the most widely recognized personality disorder. Sociopaths are often well-liked because of their charm and high charisma, but they do not usually care about other people. They think mainly of themselves and often blame others for the things that they do. They have a complete disregard for rules and lie constantly. They seldom feel guilt or learn from punishment. Though some sociopaths have become murders, most reveal their Sociopathy through less deadly and sensational means.

“I see no difference between things and people.” — Seishiro Sakurazuka, Tokyo Babylon

Sociopaths are mainly identified with there being something very wrong with the person’s conscience. They either

a)  have a conscience with “holes” in it, or

b) they don’t seem to have one at all, or

c) they are able to completely neutralize their sense of conscience into a perspective that they aren’t doing anything wrong.

Sociopaths only care about themselves:

Sociopaths only care about themselves and only see themselves as being “real” or truly human. Everybody and everything outside of themselves are twisted in their mind into mere objects to be used to achieve personal fulfillment.  It is really difficult to maintain a sociopathic relationship with an individual presenting characteristics of this personality disorder.

They often believe that they are doing nothing wrong or doing something greatly good, due to their egocentricity and grandiose sense of self-worth. They will cold-bloodily take what they want and do as they please at the expense of anyone in their lives.  They are predators who satisfy their lust for power and control through superficial charm, manipulation, intimidation, and violence. There seems to be a difference between the “made” sociopath (one who’s lived a life with a childhood that pushed them into the mind state of a sociopath) and the “true” sociopath (one who is born a sociopath.)

Types of Sociopaths

1.  Common Sociopath: simple lack of conscious.

2. Alienated Sociopath: an inability to love or receive love.

3. Aggressive Sociopath: a consistent sadistic streak.

  • Are you sure you don’t mean “conscience” vs. “conscious”. The first pertains to ethics, the other, whether or not you’re awake.

  • You are absolutely right, Russell. Thank you for catching our mistake so we could correct it.

  • lack of conscience* still isn’t fixed. also, a few more corrections…”have become murderers*” not murders and “cold-bloodedly*” not bloodily

  • This article was rife with spelling grammatical errors. It would have been nice to have it looked over by a knowledgeable editor.

  • Oftentimes, we think of the terms “psychopath” and “sociopath” as being used interchangeably to describe people who have no conscience and act with no regard to others; in fact, the terms were once fairly interchangeable. Now, however, “psychopath” is usually used in regards to someone who has crossed the line into the criminal element, while a sociopath is of little danger to those around them. A psychopath is the more dangerous of the two, but it’s also the one you’d never suspect a person of being. –(google)

  • after a year the word “conscience” is still not corrected…clearly you dont care about accuracy and dont care about your readers, you must be sociopaths….this article, like most internet garbage, is speculative, generalized, over dramatic bullshit

  • Obviously not, I saw the mistakes but the message was more important than some grammer mistakes.. Sheesh!
