6 Ways to Get a Good Psychic Medium Reading

People ask me all the time, are psychic mediums legitimate? The answer is yes, the good psychic medium ones are. Some, of course, are more gifted than others.

I have tested hundreds of psychic mediums since 1999 to determine who is and who is not legitimate. A legitimate good psychic medium is one who has a genuine ability to communicate with spirits–that is, the spirits of loved ones and other people who have passed away. Good psychic mediums also have ethics, integrity, professionalism, and are responsible in the way they deliver messages from the spirit world.

Here are six tips for finding a good psychic medium, and what you can expect from the reading once you do.

6 Tips to get a Good Psychic Medium

1.   Beware of people who ask a lot of leading questions.

Fake psychics can be quite convincing and good at deceiving people–especially those who are grieving. Scam artists and frauds will ask a lot of questions, fishing around for clues so they can improve their guessing ratio when delivering “messages” from beyond. Good psychics also need to ask questions for clarification, but they will generally ask you if something is making sense–requiring a yes-no answer–rather than probing for specific information about a deceased loved one.

2.   Look for accurate evidence, not vague, general “messages”.

Spirit communication should always begin with messages that identify the spirit who is communicating with the psychic medium. The medium should be able to give you identifying evidence such as the name of the deceased, their age and circumstances of their passing, and/or physical appearance or personality characteristics. If the medium can’t do this, they’re either frauds, or inexperienced, or not very gifted.

3.   A promise to remove a curse for a fee is a red flag.

Never give money to a psychic medium who promises to remove a curse or spell for money. There’s never any curse or spell, and this is the most common scam in the field. These criminals use fear to manipulate people–and sometimes rip them off for thousands of dollars. Don’t fall for it.

4.   Don’t reveal “personal ID” information to a medium.

If the spirit communicator you’ve hired asks for your social security number, bank account number, passwords, driver’s license, or any other financial or identity information, it’s a strong sign that something is suspicious. Hang up if you’re on the phone, or walk out, and report this person to your state attorney general’s office.

5.   Give the psychic medium enough time to do the job well.

I always recommend a one-hour reading rather than a half-hour reading. The more time you give the psychic medium, the more likely you’ll hear from the person you’re seeking. It’s not unusual for a medium to relay that a spirit wants you to deliver an important message to a friend or neighbor–possibly because this person is unlikely to go to a medium–and they need to use you as the messenger. Generally, the most important messages come through first, and there will still be time for your own loved one to come if he or she didn’t show up immediately.

6.   Even good psychic mediums have bad days.

Good spirit communicators can have bad days, just like the rest of us. Spirit communication through a medium is a three-way conversation. All three parties–the sitter, the medium, and the spirit–affect the reading. Don’t book a reading if your energy is low, or if you’re hung over or fraught with despair and sobbing uncontrollably. This can be distracting for the medium. If the medium gets clear messages from one or two people, but not the person in the spirit world whom you wanted, that’s still a legitimate reading. But if nothing the medium is saying makes sense, they could be having an off day. Always let them know early in the reading that the messages are not hitting base. This way the medium can stop the reading and book it for another day.
