Temple Hayes: Author of When Did You Die?

Temple-HayesRebel, renegade, and resurrected a thousand times, Temple Hayes is a spiritual trailblazer for our time. Born in a rural Southern church-going community in South Carolina, she knew from the beginning she was different from those around her. Her life was filled with strife—violence in the home, a lack of love and compassion, blatant neglect.

Temple Hayes sought to numb the pain with alcohol bought at the local grocery store. But there was more that she was hiding, she knew she had a deep connection to spirit which no one would approve or believe because it didn’t conform to traditional Christian teachings. So each day, she denied who she was, driving deeper into numbness. Dying a little each day…

Temple Hayes forged a new life from the ashes of her day-by-day death, a life that embraced bringing others to this realization of being worthy and loved, and in opening their hearts. Temple, an accomplished and practicing shaman, is a catalyst for turning lingering sorrows into brighter tomorrows and restoring all parts of the soul.

Having joined the ministry in 1991, Temple Hayes is now the spiritual leader at Unity Campus in St. Petersburg, Florida, revered internationally, and a key member of the Leadership Council of the Association of Global New Thought. Her new book When Did You Die? is anchored in her work to fast-forward people to the impassioned and energized living they so richly want and deserve.

 Interview with Temple Hayes

OMTIMES: How would you describe your book in a few lines ?

Temple Hayes: My book is a conversation about how to stop dying from the small slights and big pains we face every day that take our energy and close down our hearts. My goal is to redirect people to their personal GPS/their God-Personalized System, that mystery by design, so that one can live a vibrant life with an open heart. First step is to wake up and start to understand how life works. The key reason life is a struggle is because people do not understand how to work with life, therefore life does not work with them – thus, there is struggle, feeling disconnected and drained. We are not created to be robotic in nature, to do as others desire and do as we are told. We are designed to have our own GPS, to transcend the shadows in our lives and live awake, full and present.
