Self-Doubt: Our Biggest Saboteur

self-doubt_OMTimes

Self-doubt is the greatest saboteur of all! The most fascinating thing about our quantum mind (the pure mind essence) is that it knows all answers, and it has infinite power to create anything and everything for us, but it needs to hear our voice of unity. Confusion, self-doubt, negative attitudes and beliefs simply kill its power to deliver.

The reason for self-doubt is not out there, but right here, in the mind, in our beliefs, and in the pattern of our mental and emotional conditioning. Through years and years of negative inner self-talk, we have groomed our subconscious and wired our brains with repeated firing of neurons to doubt our innate mind power. What is needed is to restructure our brains by rephrasing the self-doubt in our mental repetitive thoughts. We need to convince the universe that we don’t doubt its intelligence, but are ready to flow with it, accept it and honor its laws. Then, we can sit back and watch how the universe works its wonder!

It is natural to have doubts for our mind is accustomed to nurturing doubts about everything. At some point, we need to have some calmness of the mind that will give us clarity of thoughts with fewer self-doubts. If a good doctor prescribes medicine, we have faith and take the medicine thinking we are definitely going to be okay with this medicine.

Likewise, we need to affirm that things will turn out for the best, as we trust in the universal intelligence of our quantum mind. We start by changing our thoughts and also transforming our mind chatter into words that are full of understanding and trust. We start slowly, changing our mindset from doubt to clarity and faith, and then see what happens. It will not change overnight, but over a period of time and practice with positive words, our self-doubts will diminish in number.

One of the major stumbles in the path of self-realization is the negative self-belief. Our limitations are self-imposed. The path of transcendence demands our full commitment to tear apart this sense of fear, self-doubt, and anxiety. We should never pay any heed to what people say about us, but deeply contemplate our innate divinity, our magnificence and our expansion. We all need to overcome our negative self-beliefs and self-imposed limitations to become aware of who we truly are: angels of light.

The only source from where we receive everything is the universe. The wise know how to attract the highest vibrations from the universal ocean of consciousness. We just have to watch our thoughts and words, choose to think with emotion the best in our lives, and speak words that emanate light and hope. As such, when we doubt the power of universe to give us what we need, we block the passage through which bounties of joy and peace can flood us all the time.

If we have thoughts that are anchored in our being, in the presence within us, in the faith of God, and in faith in our own heart, that gradually creates its own pattern of positive power. It attracts positive, joyful, pleasant situations to our life. As we think, so we become.

There is a deeply touching and wonderful teaching from a Native American Cherokee chief that has a message that can completely transform our life from self-doubt and resistance to acceptance and transcendence.

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves. One is evil; he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt and ego. The other is good; he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. This same fight is going on inside of you and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old chief simply replied, “The one you feed.”

We need to watch what food (thought or emotion) we are munching, it is very important for that shapes our future possibilities. Let us not feed that which can keep us hungry for peace forever, but embrace the conscious practice of being awake moment to moment, vigilant of the thoughts and emotions playing in the mind. Let us vow to withdraw our participation from the negative energies that can steal our happiness in life. Let us proclaim that “My quantum mind is omnipotent and omniscient, I am infinitely blessed to receive the bounty of all that I need in life to be healthy, happy and in harmony with all of existence.”

No one else can train our mind to overcome self-doubt. We can only begin with the mind and the thoughts we have, so we need to be kind and loving and compassionate with ourselves and fill our minds with positive proclamation whenever possible. As we observe our thoughts and emotions as well as notice what is true or what is a detrimental illusion in our thinking, we can patiently, lovingly, and consistently lead our mind and our thoughts back to what is ultimately universally true. Gradually, even the most negative patterns of mind will begin to release their hold on us. With persistence, one day we will be self-doubt-free and deeply, abidingly happy.
