We All Have Negative Habits We Can Do Without

If we want to stay fresh, youthful, and alive in this world, we can forsake some of our negative habits. Many repetitive habits serve to make us feel comfortable, and eventually lull us to sleep. So, not all habits need to be removed, just the ones that will rob us of success and happiness. Here are some examples:

1. Thinking Everyone Else Has More Success Than You.

In biographies and autobiographies, enjoy reading about how someone else became successful, but while we might get ideas from this reading, it doesn’t serve us until we implement it. One individual’s story is just as important as any others is.

Keep track of our own good and also our own successes. If there is a plan to achieve a dream, respect our own path and our own story. Make working on our things the habit versus applauding someone else. Work on it daily and with diligence. Make yourself into someone else’s best story of success.

2. Is the Time Right Now?

There is no such thing as waiting for that one, perfect moment. So, take this very moment and make it perfect. If there is a habit of waiting, the moment never will come and we will never accomplish what we’re here to do. Each of us has the ability to take any right now moment and make it perfect – perfect to begin, perfect to work, perfect to persevere. Therefore, do not wait for it to be perfect. Turn this negative habit around and make it perfect right now.

3. A Sense of “I Need This Money.”

Imagine a lady who had a long series of jobs. None of them was very satisfying to her, but, she had kids to feed, rent to pay, food to buy, etc. It’s no wonder she was easily bored in every one of those jobs.

She has a brilliant mind, and her mind needed to find its own dream, her own passion, and fully engage in what that way versus just getting a paycheck. Thus, this suffering and slavery is a negative habit that deserves to be broken.

4. Find your passion.

Pour your whole self into it. The money will be there because this kind of work creates the money into infinity and without worry. If we deny our passion, this negative habit keeps us from fulfillment. What’s your passion?

5. The Word “Hate.”

Observe yourself and see if you say “I hate this” or “I hate that” throughout your day. Hatred is the opposite of love, and to have a habit of hatred – well, there just aren’t adequate words for how awful these negative habits are. Hatred can also make you very, very ill. Love is the answer. You have a choice.

6. Temporary Pleasures.

Let’s say we’re on a diet. We really want that cookie. We eat it. That was a temporary pleasure. If we had stuck with a diet, we’d eventually enjoy a permanent pleasure – a new body.

Temporary pleasures usually become habitual and when they do, they block the way of achieving a permanent goal or ambition. We can observe ourselves and discover if we’re going for temporary or permanent pleasures. For a while, that cookie seems all important. Is it really? Or are we willing to hold out for something better – something more permanent?

7. Negative People.

Some individuals have a good heart. They can be  generous and love to help people. But sometimes, these people can drain the very life out, so change these negative habits instead to surrounding ourselves with people who support us as much as we support them.

This is not easy, based on a good heart. In the long run, though, if we hold fast to the determination to set them aside, they will figure things out for themselves. This is a facet of tough love, but love it is.

There is the hope that you found little clean-up areas in your self. Freeing ourselves of the negative habits also means that the ways to Be the Change become more apparent in our lives.
