What’s it like to grow up in a magical family? Hereditary witch and historian Jeanette Belle talks about her family line’s ancestral traditions and how they continue to shape her life and spiritual path.

Jeanette Belle is a professional astrologer, Tarot reader, historian, maker and hereditary traditional witch (Cunning- woman). With graduate degrees in near Eastern History / Egyptology and Religious Studies, she has spent much of her life happily wandering through old texts, ancient religions, celestial symbolism, folklore and the wonderfully strange ways human beings have attempted to make sense of the cosmos.

She teaches history at the college level and brings a historian’s curiosity – and a healthy respect for good sources – to her astrological and magical practice. When she isn’t teaching, reading charts or disappearing down some historical rabbit hole, Jeanette can usually be found working with fiber, thread, paper and ink, creating textiles and handcrafted journals.

Her work lies at the crossroads of scholarship and enchantment, where history, astrology, traditional witchcraft, creativity and the cycles of the heavens are all part of the same long conversation.
