Yet she continued to make accommodations for it. She limped through life, overcompensating for an injury long gone by.<\/p>\n<p>She protected the wound and avoided people and places that might reinjure it. Over time, she became so accustoming to accommodating the wound, that she didn\u2019t realize how much it still impacted her life.<\/p>\n<p>She contracted when she became wounded and her comfort zone shrank. But she didn\u2019t see how much this limited her.<\/p>\n<p>She never found a way to once again become the person she was before the wound, or to become more than she was then. She became less, and this was not what she wanted.<\/p>\n<p>But the once temporary accommodations had become a way of life for her.
