What or who have you been accommodating that doesn\u2019t serve you, and maybe never did?<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what it looks like when we subscribe to something that doesn\u2019t work for us:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 We minimize the situation and its impact on us.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 We act as if the problem doesn\u2019t exist.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 We apply a band aid or temporary fix to the situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 We convince ourselves that we don\u2019t have the energy, time, or money to do anything else.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 And we believe that any other way would be too hard.<\/p>\n<p>When we recognize that we have been overly adaptive, we may get to a point where we want to say, \u201cNo more.\u201d But we may feel stuck because we don\u2019t want to ruffle any feathers, or we\u2019re overwhelmed at the thought of doing the necessary work.<\/p>\n<p>What is the one thing you don\u2019t want to deal with? What does it cost you to accommodate it and adjust yourself?
