Keeping the Faith

“You gotta have faith”, as the song says.

Of course, it’s true. Without it, how would you have something to look forward to? How would you trust anyone without faith? We need it in our lives to survive. The hope that everything, no matter what happens in the moment, will eventually turn out okay and there will be a reason and a purpose.

We trust other people and still have faith that most of them are decent human beings. Even when our delicate egos are momentarily shattered by someone we trusted who let us down, we turn around and we do it again. We have to keep moving forward. If we lose our faith, we quit trying and if we quit trying, we stop caring and we stop living our purpose.

Our faith can be shaken, stirred and put up for auction sometimes but we have to press on. On to the next door, the next path, the next idea and have the courage to believe again. We have to take our faith and shine it up and believe. We need to believe that there really is a reason why things happen, the good and the not so good. So we take our faith and shine it up and give someone or some other idea a chance.

Faith describes the belief in a higher power that guides us and loves us unconditionally as we stumble around on Earth in our entire flawed splendor. The faith that we are dearly welcomed at the end of our time here with a beautiful and glowing light that will lead us to the heavenly cosmos where the souls gather.

Stand tall with your faith deeply ingrained in your heart. No matter what others do or don’t do that you thought they would. No matter if the wings fall off your airplane. Get out the tape and glue and put your faith back together and fly again! Work hard, pray often and have faith that it will all mean something pretty incredible when it’s the right time!
