Julian Lennon – A Window to the Past, A Bridge to the Future
Julian Lennon: Dad once said to me that should he pass away, if there was some way of letting me know he was going to be ok – that we were all going to be ok – the message would come to me in the form of a white feather. Then something happened to me about ten years ago when I was on tour in Australia. I was presented with a white feather by an Aboriginal tribal elder, which definitely took my breath away. One thing for sure is that the white feather has always represented peace to me.
CB: What is your most cherished charitable area: children, global issues (such as ecology), Human Rights… ?
Julian Lennon: All of the above (children, global, economy, etc) and let’s not forget the vital life-force of…. WATER, CLEAN WATER!!!
CB: What is your vision of mankind’s future?
Julian Lennon: You don’t want to know!
CB: In regards to Peace, John Lennon had the famous quote, “All we need is love”. In light of all that is happening in the world today, do you think real Peace is possible? What are your thoughts on the best way to reach that Peace?
Julian Lennon: It was all of the Beatles who declared “All We Need Is Love” ! It is hard to believe that peace can be attained in the world when there is so much greed and famine…..the best we can do is to start at home and work from the inside out which is what I am trying to do with my charity.
CB: The creative arts are an incredible way to bring Healing, both to oneself and to others. Are there any particular projects you are working on right now?
Julian Lennon: I am working on my photography and planning to exhibit some pictures this year. I have also recently recorded a new album, entitled ‘EVERYTHING CHANGES’, which we will release in Spring 2011. I believe that all the creative arts are a healing force. Through my songs, such as “Saltwater” and “How Many Times”, I have tried to express this. My work with The White Feather Foundation also brings its own healing because we are able to connect people with a common wish for healing of the world and ourselves.
CB: We share an intention for the Healing of the world. Thank you, Julian, for sharing your heart with us at OM Times Magazine.
