One Gift Remains
by Kristine Kenyon
Take it to the Ocean, She’s the mother who knows For a million years she’s heard the joys, And caught the tears that fell, dripping into her Children young and old, either alone or together Have looked to her in calm and storm to be their guide Searching to find solace whether elated or fallen in pride Perhaps trying to make sense out of what they’ve left behind A life once known, not working or just blind Nothing as it should be, out of turn they’ve spoken Hopes, dreams and promises broken, left in the wake of their own vision Trailing sand, sifting through the divisions.. Tender hearts in need of mending
Knowing one day, to home she’ll be sending Emotionally adrift, a pain unending, still one gift remains Destiny will come along singing a new and joyful song
