Correctional Officer, Correctional Sergeant, Correctional Lieutenant, Correctional Captain, Associate Warden, Chief Deputy Warden, Warden. All promotions from Lieutenant to Captain require a two year college degree.

OTM: When you realized that corruption within CDCr goes ‘all the way to the top”, did that shake your resolve to “do the right thing”? I learned to do the right thing with my parents raised me and my brother to do the right thing. I felt that the people at the top did not know what was going on, so it was my duty as a Correctional Officer to report this to the right person at the top. That’s why I took an oath to become a California Correctional Officer.

OTM: What really inspired you to write the book? First and foremost I wrote this book for my dying father, who encouraged me to share my story with the world that would not see the outcome before he passed away on August 14, 2005. Both of my parents who are now deceased observed the signs of fatigue that it was taking on my body.  They both wanted it to end and for me to be safe and move on with my life. My Parents where a big influence on my life and I promised both of them I would finish my book.  I can remember when I finished my book, I went to the church where they are laid to rest and placed a book between them and cried for hours, and told them that I now have closure within myself. But I knew my life has taken a big turn and that I still have to be careful with my surroundings. I am on guard daily.

Do you still feel your life is in danger? My life will never change. I am always on high alert with my surroundings.

What are you doing now?
Just living each day that I am thankful for being on this face of the earth.  Trying to promote my book and share my story with others who want to know what really goes on behind the Prison Walls in California.
