THE PROJECT, A Feature Film about Child Abuse in the United States
How many know that: – 75% of all women used in prostitution were victims of physical abuse as children.
– An estimated 300,000 children in the United States are at risk of commercial sexual exploitation.
– The average age of entering into prostitution in the US is 12 year old.
– The average human-trafficking predator can make more than $200,000 a year off a single child prostitute.
– It is estimated that 15% of students will be sexually abused during their school career.
These statistics tell me that THE PROJECT has the potential of becoming a really, really important movie for America right now. I believe that it will give the chance to the main stream media and to the members of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences to talk about and support this topic. In this way, the statistics will finally get to be known and analyzed by the general public.
