Home Sweet Home…

“The place that we call home should be a nurturing sanctuary…” ~Daily Om

Home Sweet Home… Does your home nurture you? Is your living space a haven of serenity and security? With the holidays fast approaching, do you find your greatest comfort in the dwelling place you have chosen? Are you ready, willing and able to welcome loved ones into your space with ease and joy – even if they are not your favorite people?

The last part of the last sentence gives me a chuckle. If you think about it, there is, just about everyday, a person with energies that drive you down a one way street the wrong way; has you gritting your teeth; euphemistically pulling your hair out and more. They could be family, co-workers or neighbors. I can tell you are thinking about one or two as you read this!! Time to smile!

Inside, Outside, Upside Down… Back now to your home space – a reflection of the inner you. What is your space saying? You can be the most creative, productive worker at your place of business, however, if you come home to a shelter that is ‘less than’ in your mind, your surroundings are not nurturing you. The question to be asked here – Is this an expression of who you are inside? Even if your inner world is more often than not filled with peace, if your outer world is one of chaos, you are living a life of contradiction. This kind of challenge interjects heavy barriers that can block the best of that which you wish to manifest; it can obstruct your greatest desires. If this is the case, it is time for you to pay attention to the flow of energy around you. It is time to align, to make your living space a conscious act of creation.

Home and Haven… Whether you are a stay-at-home mom or dad; a work from home business owner; or employed outside the house; home is the place where you ‘hang your hat’ at the end of the day that needs to be your haven of serenity, your soft place to fall. When you cross the threshold of your castle you should be able to take a deep, relaxing breath and as you exhale, let go of all that vibrated in a less than positive way throughout the day. Does your dwelling welcome you in peace?

At the opening of the ‘Inside, Outside, Upside down’ paragraph it states that the space in which you reside is a reflection of the inner you. Is it possible that you are in a place of austerity? Does your residence feel stern and serious? At the other end of the spectrum, are you coming home to a place of clutter or chaos? Each is an expression of opposite poles. Balance and harmony originate from the midpoint, a hub of centeredness, so to be austere or chaotic removes one from a starting point of equilibrium.
