Making Wings for Angels

Michelle Dreamer Acevedo

Growing up in very humble beginnings to a matriarchal family full of very creative, inspiring, and talented women seemed very normal to me.

I thought my grandmother was absolutely magical. Watching her make garments that were so beautiful out of scrap remnants she had purchased from the five & dime is one of my favorite memories, and it was my grandmother that taught me how to sew, craft, and crochet; but most importantly . . . how to create.

Born to a teenage Mom would seem tragic to many, but my mother’s youth seems like a great gift when I reflect on my childhood. Everything my mother crafted, created, decorated, or presented was beautiful and perfect. My mom developed a love of photography when she was a very young adult and when she married she built her own dark room in our very first house. Seeing my mom’s images come to life on paper was a defining moment in my childhood , where I fell in love with my mom (the photographer), all over again.

Visual arts started for me in the form of charcoal sketches and painting on canvas.

I noticed at about age 14 that I was consistently drawn to paint winged creatures, angels & all thing ethereal. As I began to grow up I had a fascination to all angel images in sculpture, fine art & photography. I also had a very strong sense to help those less fortunate than myself.

Out of my nature to “make things better in the world”, I have created a small artisan business where I sew, knit, crochet, weave and craft visual art props for fine art portraiture~ specializing in angels wings.

While celebrating the many talented photographers and artists and sharing their amazing images on my facebook, website, and store ads, we all work as a team for the greater good.

By purchasing my props there is a monthly donation given to Humanity Healing and Global Giving Foundations. You see, a substantial percentage of my profits goes directly to “pay it forward” and give to those who need it most.

I don’t think most of my patrons know that they are actually acting as angels on earth by providing funds for basic human needs for people all across the globe. Soon I will be partnering with a phenomenal local photographer to open our very first ” Angels Everyday Photography Studio”.

Here we will be able present clients with various sets, props, apparel, and wings so that they too can have their own angel portrait of fine art of which the proceeds will have gone to a much greater purpose. Those who walk through our doors will be able to be “Angels” for people they will never meet all across this wonderful globe we call Earth.
