Impotence-Baiting: The Angry White Man & Love
by Kanta Bosniak
I’m about to break a self-imposed rule never to comment on politics. I have chosen throughout my professional life to be a spiritual, rather than social activist, and to be accessible to anyone. I’m Switzerland, at least publicly. But there comes a time, when your most basic and fundamental values are challenged, that silence is not an option.
As a spiritual activist, I have a commitment to empowerment..to helping people find confidence in their inner voice, their freedom to express themselves, their creativity, their Inner Light. To stop tolerating self-judgment and or its projections in the “other.” To celebrate and integrate the positive feminine principle of compassion and the positive masculine principles of reasonable sustainability.
I know down to my toenails that we are One and we are, each and every one of us, expressions of our Divine Source. And we share something else: a mean voice that tells us otherwise. That voice is a bully. That voice has neither conscience nor scruples. It drapes itself in flags and masquerades as divine emissary. Divinity does not punish. It does not hate. It does not revel in the pain of others. It does not target. It does not place personal gain over the good of the whole.
Kicking heads in, hate radio, calculated “no” strategies…have we lost civility while we weren’t looking? What are we going to do about it? I think of that mean voice as it is expressed in middle American culture as “Angry White Man Syndrome”…misogynistic, racist, resentful of the loss of predominance of physicality in favor of intellectual and interpersonal skill sets. And I see that rage being expertly exploited by vested interests, who have no concern whatsoever for the men they bait. So little concern that they shipped the jobs those men depended on to other continents. Nice trick: divert someone’s livelihood and then divert their rage!
I find it sadly ironic that the one of those most successful in triggering the Angry White Man is a wealthy woman, who has separated herself from both compassion and reasonable sustainability and whose response to challenge is to call her opponents impotent, limp and weak.. Real men..or women may club fish or shoot animals to feed their families. When or a politician to act these things out for the cameras, s/he panders.
Will we wake up? Will women and men who’ve allowed themselves to be blinded by self-judgment learn to find wholeness, so that they don’t invite leaders who hate- bait? Will we use the economic challenge to rise up to the next level beyond physicality, beyond even intellectuality: Thought…vibration, and the creativity that naturally flows from a state of Love?
