Take a Break from Your Thoughts

Can I Learn To Stop Thinking When I Want?

Well, no, but you can stop thinking about thinking. You can stop thinking that you should or shouldn’t be thinking. You can also stop thinking that you need to think one way or another. Do you know what I mean? If you think it’s not right to think something, and so you try to think something else, you end up in a vicious circle of thinking and then thinking about thinking, until you’re so confused you don’t know what you thought in the first place. The best approach is to think whatever you think, and remember that most of what you think isn’t accurate or necessary.

How Could I Be Motivated If I Didn’t Think About Everything?

You find motivation inside you, rather than from your thoughts. True motivation comes from knowing who you are, at your core, and letting the inspiration to act come from that core place. Thinking often confuses this process, so it’s better to let the thoughts pass through the mind, and don’t pay too much attention to them.

If Thinking Is Such An Obstacle, Why Do We Do It?

Humans have to think in order to be here. There’s a lot to think about, but it’s all related to living a basic existence, doing the things you must in order to live. This includes such things as eating, sleeping, etc.; basic survival skills. Beyond this, thinking is really pretty much a waste of time and energy. So you could say that thinking is inevitable, but you can still access a higher source of knowledge and let the thoughts come and go.
