Getting Information from a Pendulum
When know both the “yes” and “no” movements of your pendulum, you can begin asking questions that can be answered by either yes or no. The answers are waiting for you in your unconscious mind, higher self, or in the unified field of all information that surrounds us all.
As a Divination Tool
Pendulums have been used for divination for centuries. The ancient Romans and the French seer, Nostradamus, held a pendulum over a basin that had the characters of the Greek alphabet inscribed on it. The movement of the pendulum would spell out words, much like getting answers from a Ouija board.
Center yourself and free your mind of all expectation. Then, phrase your question carefully. You could ask, for example, “Am I going to have a relationship?” is too vague. Instead, you’d want to ask “Am I going to have a relationship with Robert Smith, the guy that I met an hour ago at Starbucks?” Notice how I narrowed down the scope of the question.
You will not want to use your pendulum for negative or egotistical purposes. Use it only for the well-being of yourself or others.
You can “clear” your pendulum every time you use it through your intention. Then once in a while, especially during a full moon, put your pendulum outside in the moonlight (in dry weather, of course) to clear it further and charge it.
As a way to check the energy of the chakras of others
You can also use a pendulum to help sense the state of a chakra of another person. A pendulum will give you feedback about the location of each chakra and its movement. When you are new to sensing chakras, this information will be helpful and will back up the information you are getting through sensing chakras with your hands, body, or energy field.
It’s best to test your use of the pendulum before you try to test chakras with it. Come up with 20 or so test questions where you know the correct answer. You’ll want to center and relax and clear your mind so you are focusing only on the question you are asking, so that you don’t accidentally project the answer you want into your results. Ask the questions and record the yes or no answers you receive from the pendulum; you need at least 60 – 70% accuracy before moving on to test chakras.
Practice testing the chakras with a friend. Have that person lie down, face up, and hold the pendulum above each of his or her seven chakras. You hold the pendulum about 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) above a chakra. After a moment, the pendulum will begin to move. Record what movement results at each chakra: does it go clockwise, counter-clockwise, in an elliptical direction, a straight line, erratic, or is there no movement at all? Give it a minute or two if necessary for the movement to settle firmly into a pattern. Be sure the pendulum isn’t touching his or her body. The hardest part is freeing your mind of any expectations about what you will find.
