Maybe my daughter asking these questions is not so much about what I teach her. Maybe the lesson is for me. Maybe for all of us whose students, children and grandchildren will undoubtedly ask these questions again and again throughout their development the lesson is to look at what is going on in the world through the eyes of a child. How absurd it must all seem to them. From my little corner of the world in Cromwell, CT, I know only this to be true: Until all of us who inhabit this planet collectively move beyond tolerance and come to an understanding and acceptance of one another, no answer will ever, truly, be good enough.
