From Hervey Bay, Australia to Uganda

Integrated Development Academy’s Annual Walk of Inspiration

Walk-of-Inspiration-2009_OM-TimesEditor’s Note: What makes this campaign so remarkable is that it truly represents the new global mindset that will usher in a new era for Humanity:  this is a group of young people in Australia giving of their time and energy to raise money for a US-based charity working to restore Hope to children in Uganda.  If you have the resources, please contact Michael Green to make a contribution and add your energy to the network of good being built.

Michael Green is spreading his drive and passion as a martial arts and self-development instructor into fundraising for the less fortunate.

The founder of Hervey Bay’s Integrated Martial Arts Academy will host the annual Walk of Inspiration on Sunday, July 10, where he will lead about 70 participants from The Pines in Pialba at 9am to the Lions Park barbeque area across from the Urangan Pier.

The students have been busy collecting sponsorship for the event, which will raise funds for Humanity Healing International and their projects in Uganda, Africa.

“It’s a great community minded event that allows people to unite together in common good and help other people in the world who are less fortunate than us,” Mr. Green said.

“Humanity Healing are doing amazing work for children and communities in Uganda, Africa, and are devoted towards providing inspiration and healing on a very large scale across the globe.”

Since the inaugural walk in 2007, Michael Green and the students of the Integrated Development Academy have raised funds for worthy organizations, including Greenpeace, The Orion Project and Humanity Healing International.  Last year’s walk raised enough funds to expand the Vocational Training Program at Future Victory School in Uganda to include Livestock Management and purchase a herd of goats for the children to learn with.  Mr. Green is hoping to attract a top crowd of participants to better last year’s tally.

Steve from Fraser Coast Safari’s has once again come on board to help out with the event by supplying his camels for some of the younger walkers to ride.

After the walk, the group will host a barbeque in Lions Park, which will include a fundraising auction.

Mr. Green encourages Fraser Coast residents to take part in this special event.
