PMS and Intuition

By Cori Savenelli

This is an odd topic, right? Not really. PMS includes mood swings, depression, lethargy, sensitivity, pain and many other fun filled happenings. We cry over commercials, yell at people, have tantrums, get lazy and all the rest of the behaviors that drive people as far away from us for 7 days as they possibly can get.

Some food for thought:

We get our monthly visitors because our bodies are responding to the biology of having babies.  We all know this on a very basic physical level, but what does all this mean spiritually?

Some of you may have experienced a heightened sense of psychic awareness or of intuition during these times; and if you haven’t paid attention to that yet, give it a try.

It happens.  Our psychic minds are on alert.  The sensitivity that this process brings contributes to our sense of empathy, which is one of the cornerstones of heightened awareness.  Even with all of the physical issues we have during this time, some of us will also tend to be more dramatic, make more spontaneous decisions, and speak our minds.  Some may experience natural “drunken honesty”.

Our entire field of energy changes, not only our bodies. We are connecting to the universe is a way that is lighter, more open to breaking through barriers of our basic energy fields.  We’ve all heard of a mother’s intuition. Each month all of us have a small taste of this heightened intuition and it is wise to adhere to its messages. With this comes the responsibility of recognizing that we are functioning on a different plane and that actions should be carefully considered, yet our spiritual selves should take note of the information our conscious and unconscious minds are being given.

So the next time you have a gut feeling, or a vivid dream, or a super sensitivity or reaction to a new acquaintance during your “time”, just take note of it and investigate it later.  The veil lifts just a little higher every month for us ladies.  So use your time wisely!

  • Hello, thank you for this valuable article. I think it is important to clarify that the Premenstrual Stage actually occurs for 2 weeks and some days . In this stage, we begin to feel the psychological and physical effects of PMS. Afterwards, we get our period for a few days, then, we begin to feel relief in moodiness, depression, etc-not too much on the physical effects, that, doesn’t ease up until mid week in the menstration stage. Basically, some women who experience PMS will deal with the symptoms for weeks leading into their period.I am on of them, : ) There is no break inside our small universe, just like the outer, larger universe. I faith guidance and peace to all women, particularly, on thIS highly spiritual stage. Blessings.
