When Positive Thinking Seems Positively Impossible
By Cori Savenelli
We all exist with a certain amount of unease. There are people, things and situations in our lives that make it feel almost impossible to hold our heads up high and face each day.
We may feel alone, though we are surrounded by others. We may feel inadequate although others may admire us. We may feel less than perfect although others may wish they were in our shoes for just one day. We may feel that we are without anything to offer the world, though others may seek us out.
We may feel rejected and used, though others may crave our company. We may be hurt by the actions of one, while the actions of many seek to make us feel honored. We may feel that we are without talent, although others seek to learn from us. We may feel less than beautiful, although others seek only to please and admire us. We may feel tired, although we create the most honestly during those conditions. We may feel unloved although others love us so much it consumes their thoughts.
In a world full of competitive ideals and injustices, the attachment to positive thought can allude us. It is a practice that takes effort that we feel we cannot afford to attempt for fear of discovering that it is simply pointless in a world full of so many concrete systems and practicalities. Where this practice may seem impossible to you there is another way.
Fight with the frog in your throat! Hold him down! Hold your head up high, walk with grace and dignity! Appear as though you feel wonderful today, that the rain is making you feel refreshed even though all you want to do is hide. Tell others how happy you are for all of your blessings even though your heart and emotions may feel impoverished today! Put on your big girl panties and your big boy boxers and man up! Behave as though nothing and no one in this life can harm you or diminish you or scar your spirit. These actions will ultimately lead to a genuine shift over time. We are a work in progress, and it takes time, friends. You are NOT a victim of circumstance, you are the author, editor and publisher of your own book!
It is through grace and strength that we display our true character, find our true nature, and attract the most love!
What the world cannot see will not harm you!…Love, Light and Peace to you!
