Christiane-NorthrupFollowing a career as a practicing physician in obstetrics and gynecology for over 25 years, Dr. Northrup has dedicated her life to inspiring women to flourish. She encourages women to create health on all levels by tuning into their inner wisdom.

Dr. Christiane Northrup has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, The View, Rachael Ray, Good Morning America, 20/20, and The Dr. Oz Show. She also participated in a health documentary called “Hungry for Change”.

Dr. Christiane Northrup has created  a new language of women’s health.  She is a dancer, a goddess, a joyful being in addition to being a healer and doctor.  Her sense of childlike  wonder and joy are very important to her,  and they are solidly routed in the reality of being at the bedside of women in the very throes of everything from death and pain to birth and joy.    Dr. Christiane Northrup is a woman who knows the human experience in all its glory and all its sorrows.  She chooses to dance anyway because doing so is part of the healing of the entire planet.

As a business owner, physician, former surgeon, mother, writer, and speaker, Dr. Christiane Northrup acknowledges our individual and collective capacity for growth, freedom, joy, and balance.

OMTimes had a chance to interview Dr. Christiane Northrup and find her views on healthcare, women’s empowerment and wellbeing, and the role of women in today’s world.

OMTimes: In a past interview with columnist, Marianne Schnall you stated, “…the hierarchical pyramid with God on top, followed by men, women, children, and then nature. The person who is most Godlike in our personal theology is the one who has the right—the God-given right—to determine what everyone else should think, wear, look like, and how they should spend their money. What I’ve realized over the years is that this hierarchical model of power—patriarchal model of power, if you will—is the thing that is often running a woman’s immune system, endocrine system, and central nervous system.” What would a more balanced, partnership model of power look like to you?
