OMTimes: What would be your Top 5 2013 New Year’s Resolutions for Women?
Dr. Christiane Northrup: 1. Say ” I love you” into the mirror each and every morning. Directly into your eyes.
2. Have your vitamin D level checked. Find out the actual number!! (Adequate is NOT good enough). Take enough vitamin D to get it into the optimal range– 40-90ng/ml (This can be as much as 5,000IU/day)
3. Take a 20 minute walk (minimal) 3 times per week OR– dance around the house while vacuuming or dusting– to your favorite playlist of song– 20 minutes worth
4. Put sticky notes on the fridge, the bathroom mirror, wherever, that say BREATHE!! And when you see one, take 5 slow deep breathes in through your nose and out through your nose. (This balances the parasympathetic/sympathetic nervous systems and digests stress hormones.
5. Empty and shine your sink each night before going to bed. This provides a central focus of control that has a tendency to spread order to the rest of your life. (courtesy of The flylady.net)
