Make Your Own Saline Nasal Spray

Lots of people have nasal congestion and buying saline sprays at the drug store can be very expensive, but saline nasal sprays are easy and inexpensive to make… plus they are all natural and work well for clearing nasal congestion.

Ingredients:

1 to 2 teaspoons of plain kosher salt or pickling salt (none iodized) you can find this at your local grocery store… some people use sea salt, or red salt, even Himalayan salt.

4 cups of boiled distilled water… let cool.

1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda – this will sooth nasal passages.

1 or 2 drops of glycerin will keep your nasal passages from drying out.

1 –  4 cup plastic storage container with plastic lid…  store this container in the frig.

1 – small nasal spray bottle – perhaps a bottle you’ve used in the past, open it, wash it out and reuse it… or buy a small reusable spray bottle at your drug store.

Now fill your spray bottle and use it to clear your nasal passages… use as needed.

Optional – Add essential oils to the spray that will feel good and help loosen mucus… oils such as rosemary, eucalyptus, and frankincense, and just about any other oil that is none burning. Also some people add a one or two drops of apple cider vinegar, some add a couple drops of Manukka honey that is antibacterial in action, some even like grapefruit seed extract which is antiviral.
