30 Days of Self Healing – Day 0

Responding to life’s events in a positive way has been the greatest foundation in the life I’ve created for myself. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve endured my share of suffering and negative experiences, including the heartbreaking loss of two family members. In fact, a friend once asked me, “With all that’s happened, how can you be so happy and healthy?” I shared with my friend that despite the hardships, I still felt immensely fortunate to have such an incredibly fulfilling, peaceful, joyful life.

Every single day, I wake up and ask myself why others don’t feel this way, too. The answer I constantly come up with is that most people don’t think it’s possible for them—they don’t believe that they can do it or have it. They allow their negative perceptions and the opinions of others to interfere with their lives and dictate who they become or how they think and feel, rather than first turning inward and discovering all of that from within. In short, they just don’t know how to maintain a positive, healthy outlook and view the journey through life with hope.

Your mind-set most certainly affects your well-being. And my purpose for participating in this 30 day challenge, is to share what I have learned after more than 20 years of studying and discovering exactly how to achieve your maximum potential in the most important area of your life: your health.

Until I was introduced to chiropractic, I had never made health a top priority. Chiropractic is a form of health care that emphasizes self-healing. It focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on one’s health.  My background had been in conventional medicine; I was a pre- med student on my way to becoming a neurosurgeon. But I became fascinated by chiropractic, which taught me that the body is designed to heal itself, and that without proper health, we are limited in every area of our lives. But this book is not about chiropractic care—it is about the body’s ability to fix itself.
