Ten years, numerous certifications and hundreds of consultations later, by then the owner of my own school for training professional consultants, I was so discouraged with what I was seeing in the lives of my clients that I walked away from a very lucrative practice because I had come to realize that the most powerful Feng Shui of all couldn’t be addressed by moving furniture or changing paint color; it wasn’t quite as simple as it had once seemed to be on the surface because what I discovered through actual practice was that Feng Shui – the energy of the environment – is not generated solely by the earth, what is built upon it and how that space is decorated, but also by the inhabitants of the space. I had come to learn, through what would otherwise be called successful results, that when a person is not prepared for those results, the success is fleeting. I also came to discover that it isn’t just the space that nurtures the people living and working there, the people affect the space as well.
