Healing into Wholeness Using Chakras – Day 0
The seven major chakras are:
Root Chakra -1st chakra (foundation, survival)
The root chakra is centered at the perineum at the spine’s base. This chakra affects the adrenal glands, lymphatic system, skeletal system, the male prostate gland, the sacral plexus, bladder and lower extremities (bones, feet, knees, legs and coccyx) and it is also associated with the sense of survival. It is your foundation, the support for all that you build. The basic theme of this chakra is “the right to be here”. Emotional safety issues will lead to this chakra as will general tension, fear and a feeling that survival is threatened.
Svadisthana – 2nd chakra (libido, feeling)
The second chakra is located within the abdomen and is associated with the hips, sacrum, genitals, womb, bladder, kidneys and lower back. This chakra is the center for sensuality, sexuality, emotions, intimacy and desire. This chakra also expresses the female qualities of relaxation and openness to receive love and pleasure, and to feel emotions. The basic theme of this chakra is “I feel”. Boundary issues, fear of change, guilt and sexual issues can be traced to this chakra.
Solar Plexus Chakra – 3rd chakra (digestion, personal power)
The third chakra is located near the navel and is associated with the muscles, skin, large intestine, stomach, liver and other organs and glands near that region. Its corresponding endocrine gland is the pancreas. The third chakra rules digestion and metabolism, and is also connected to intellect and manifestation. The third chakras theme is “the right to act and create”. Perfectionism, anger, hatred and power issues, shame, status and recognition, may be attributed to this chakra.
