Healing & Recovery – Day 0
We all have to start somewhere when faced with challenges. The problem is not always what we see on the surface. Many times if we go deeper into ourselves, we find the much more than we bargained for. It can bring up more questions but at the same time provide all the answers we have been looking for.
This is where we start playing the victim and forget about becoming a survivor. We might very well have a reason to be upset, angry, emotional, and justified, but it is still not an excuse. We feel that we are owed something or an explanation. No matter how traumatic our experiences have been or are, we can make them worse all on our own if we so choose. Everything we do in life as an adult is a choice. It is a choice we make. Nobody is forcing us to do so. We make excuses from one extreme to the other. We lie to ourselves believing our own little reality we have created.
Often to cope we might develop addictions that we refuse to see or accept, and this creates an entire new story. We tell ourselves we have a right to keep telling our story because it matters. Deep down we need affection and attention, but at some point the blame has to come to an end to own up to our own shortcomings.
We are the only author of our lives. Recognizing this is the first step. Next you have to be open to releasing and letting it all go to start a new journey. There are several techniques and tools as your disposal. When we begin to open the windows and doors around us, you will see all the amazing things that begin to come through them.
