Sandy Newbigging – Mind Detox & Meditation

Sandy Newbigging

My journey into personal development started when I was in my early teens when I read Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman and then Awareness by Anthony DeMello.  These books gave me my first glimpse into the importance of ‘waking up’, ‘being present’ and living a conscious and loving life.

I first came across Life Coaching in my early 20’s when I trained and qualified and then went on to learn other modalities including NLP, EFT, Time Line Therapy before accidentally creating a system of personal transformation called the Mind Detox Method in my mid-twenties.  Then, after a production director reading my first book, New Beginnings, I was invited to work as a therapist as part of a televised mind and body detox retreat.  What I didn’t know at the time was that the show was to be aired in 30 countries around the world and my Mind Detox Method was to become known globally.

Gail:  How different are you now from the Sandy that first began this journey?

Sandy:  The main difference between me now and me at the beginning of my journey is my focus.  At first I wanted to be seen as an expert who knew what he was teaching.  But since, I’ve become much more interested in ‘being the teaching’ – or in other words, not knowing about peace, but being peaceful.  Not knowing about love, but experiencing the inner presence of love that resides in my heart.  This shift, albeit simple, is vitally important.  I’ve seen that the world has enough conceptually enlightened people who know lots of interesting spiritual ideas, but what the world needs most right now is people living enlightened and conscious lives.

Gail:  You say your mission in life is to share ancient wisdom with a modern twist to make it make sense and be accessible to everyone tell us how that going is?

Sandy:  It’s going great!  My books have been no.1 best sellers and I’ve won awards for my academy training courses and inspirational speaking.  I’ve found over the decade that I’ve been doing this work that people have busy lives and don’t really have time to incorporate personal development practices into their life if they have a million and one ‘success steps’ that they must do before breakfast in order to have a good day!  I see my role as investigator of effective strategies and then, most importantly, simplifying what’s required down to the essentials and easy to use techniques that people can apply to real life issues, immediately.  I did it for therapy with the Mind Detox Method and I’ve also done it for meditation with my Mind Calm Meditation.
