30 Days of Self Healing – Day 29
— Daydream. Henry Ford once employed an efficiency expert to evaluate the productivity of his company. The expert’s report was favorable, although he expressed reservations about one employee. “It’s that man down the corridor,” announced the expert. “Every time I go by his office, he’s just sitting there with his feet propped on his desk. He’s wasting your money.” “That man,” replied Ford, “once had an idea that saved us millions of dollars. At the time, I believe his feet were planted right where they are now.”
Whether you’re grappling with a way to solve a business problem or thinking up a new idea for that novel you want to write, just relax, close your eyes, and let your mind wander freely. Don’t edit your thoughts. You’ll be surprised by the creative ideas that come into your mind.
— Believe in your creative power. If I had to leave you with one piece of advice, it would be this: Believe that you can be creative! Psychologists have studied the characteristics of creative people—their conclusion? Attitude. Creative people simply believe they are creative. So, have faith in your creative abilities!
What do you truly love to do? What makes your spirit soar? Dancing, singing, or playing an instrument? What about drawing, painting, woodworking, or even a starting a new business venture or inventing a product? Creativity takes so many forms. Whatever the activity, add it to your daily or weekly routine. Creativity will lift your spirit, bring self-healing, and energize your life.
