30 Days to a New You Day 10

by Shelly Wilson Challenge Yourself to Recognize YOU are Mind, Body & Spirit Balancing the aspects of mind, body, and Spirit is an integral part of our overall well-being. One’s physical health, mental/emotional health and spiritual health should all be considered.

A healthy diet and exercise is necessary for your physical well-being. In essence, you are what you eat. Fresh fruits and vegetables will assist in raising your vibration. In order to be healthy, you must feel healthy. Take a moment to reflect how your body reacts and how you feel after eating certain foods. Processed foods and “fast” foods will typically leave you feeling tired and sluggish. Moderation is essential. Over-indulgence only leads regret and a stomach ache later. Take note of how your own body feels after consuming certain foods.

I enjoy walking and breathing in the fresh air. Walking is not strenuous exercise, yet it does get the “heart pumping” and the blood circulating if you walk at a brisk pace.

Mental exercises such as memory games, Sudoku, crossword, and word seek puzzles stimulate your brain. As I previously mentioned, assessing the relationships in your life is encouraged. As you make the conscious effort to maintain healthy relationships and end unhealthy ones, you are taking control of your life. In doing so, you are contributing to your mental health.

Take time each day to connect with YOU, your inner self, through meditation. Meditation takes many forms. It can be sitting quietly, listening to a guided meditation, going for a walk, or spending time outdoors in nature. Be mindful of your breaths as you clear your mind and open your heart two to three times a day for 2-3 minutes at a time. This brief meditative excursion has wondrous results.
