A Daily Look Within – Day 11
A Daily Look Within Day 11

“Cosmic Mind” – Lifelong learning – never stop – curiosity
When we become mindful in the truest sense of the word, we are meditative–of a mind that rests in the medium, or zero point. We are equanimous in our mental exercise, and can find the inner peace that comes from moving beyond the dualities, intricacies, sensations and contrasts that make our physical experience what it is.
To reach that state of being where we are in such a pleasant state can require some effort and even pointed focus; perhaps a great deal of energy and awareness. How many people, ourselves included, feel that meditation is work, or that internal peace can be hard to achieve? What are some of the comments we hear?
“If it were that easy, then everyone would be doing it.”
“Peace would be a consistent reality, instead of something we constantly seek.”
“People do not really want peace.”
“War and fighting is reactive and easier to do.”
“It must be hard and tiring to be mindful ALL the time.”
Once we seek the real challenge of our lives, which is to become increasingly mindful of our own thought processes, we discover that so much more is possible and able to be achieved. Being mindful of our thoughts naturally leads to mindful action. In fact, the two interplay quite nicely. Not only are we able to follow our curiosity in a productive and positive way, we can be happily surprised by what we find.
