A Daily Look Within – Day 16

My Interpretation of the Latin (10/22/09):

Truth, with meditation, certain and vouchsafe: What is below is equal to what is above, and what is above is equal to what is below, and perpetually miracles are from One. And since all comes from One equally, its many offspring are one, with adaptations. Sun so like the Father. Moon so like the Mother. Air so gives life to our lungs/being. Earth is so the nurturer. The father of all creation the world over is here. Its energy is incorporated into the earth. Separate earth from fire, subtle from obtuse, carefully, with much thought. Rise as earth to heaven, in time descend to earth, and receive/learn from the great and small. Such is the glory of the whole world. Ideas form from many obscurities. Such is power derived from infinite power, evident in the subtle, penetrably obvious in the solid/ formed. Such is creation. So full of miraculous adaptations, so many models are here. So says Hermes Trismegistus, knowing three parts of the philosophy of the whole world. Completion is done with the operation of the Sun.

3/10/2010:Question: Hermes speaks of three philosophical parts (elements) earth, air, and fire. He does not mention Water in any form [not even in reference to the moon]. Alternate last line: This is the completion of what I have to say about how the Sun operates.

4/4/11: Reinterpretation of The Sun Operation, after multiple readings and reading other versions of the translation:

The Sun Operation – focuses on what the Sun is all about…seems to be Hermes’ interpretation of truth after having contemplated it all. He begins with the reciprocal law of correspondence (“as above, so below~as below, so above”), and reminds that timeless miracles have but one Source. Since it originates from one, anything coming from it is united to it (even though it may have adaptations to make it individual–changes that make it unique). He equates the Sun as being the Father/Creative force. He equates the Moon as the maternal force (thinking tides and flow here). Air is what fills our being–think of what happens as we are born, or what happens if we drown–so air is that life filler. He sees the Earth as the nurturer, as we derive our life-giving energy from it. He suggests we give great care to separating/ examining the subtle and obtuse: rising up (as in a wave or cycle) and going back down after a while (seeing those ups and downs as part of that life cycle or flow) and learn from it. This is the majesty contained in our world. He tells us ideas come from what become known, what we understand. Our power comes from a greater power, and in such ways we can see the subtle and obvious forms of creation. We have so many examples to show wondrous change/possibility. Hermes says he knows three parts of the world’s philosophy. All of this can be done thanks to the way the Sun operates.
