A Daily Look Within – Day 22
The Earth is covered with much desert area, where most people would think has an absence of Water—but not necessarily so. Even in the midst of the desert, there are oases and plant life which could not exist without any Water. So, some must either be present or be caused to fall in the desert—by storms—so as to maintain life even its most meager of forms. Deserts, basically, are simply depressed, chronically Water-deficient areas of land. Tropical areas are pretty much the opposite of deserts: places with lush vegetation and an over-abundance of life forms. Jungles and places with overhead canopies provide shade for Water to mist, cloud, and accumulate. Rivers, streams, and swamp land spread the Water over a good area and sustain many life forms, down to the lowliest insect.
Water, in its simplicity, is vital to the very existence of so many things. The very brain of humans is surrounded by liquid. Our very blood flows through our veins with viscosity provided by its Water content. Our eyes tear up. Our tongues drool.
Have you ever been really, really thirsty, to the point where no mater what you eat or drink, nothing will quench it? You grab a tall, cool glass of Water and chug it down almost in one breath. Then, get more of it to maybe drink a little more slowly, so as to savor its refreshment that much more.
In the blasting heat of summer (thank you, Fire), doesn’t the coolness of a swimming pool, bath, or sprinkler just make life so much more bearable? A big glass of “ice!” Water can really help you withstand a lot. Even a squirted mist of Water can help to revive a droopy plant or pet. Springtime is when life revives and begins to renew and grow once more. How much of that renewal is tied to Water?
