It could be the same with the food we eat. Those who eat a variety of good, fresh meals give their body better nutrition than people who consume everything from a more convenient method. Yes, it is all food, but there is a difference between taking in what comes naturally and what is chemically processed into packages. For some, eating fast food occasionally does not bother them. For others, even one meal can be a gastronomic disaster. Another example to show what we “do” we get back.
Therefore, when we choose to help others, we might expect that altruism will return in some way. However, we might not be ready for when that mode of helping others might backfire in some way. We may see ourselves as a simple person with many responsibilities, working diligently to keep them all going. It is impressive when someone chooses to help or do something nice. Even the smallest gesture can take us off-guard, because we may not expect others to offer to help out. It can usually be the other way around.
