A Daily Look Within – Day 29
“Compulsory” means necessary (as in needed), and it also means forced (as with power behind it). When authority demands compliance blindly “or else,” and infringes on our right(s) to do as we might need to do, the personal survival instinct kicks in. You know what? We can be let off a bus where there isn’t a regular stop. We can cross the street on a red light outside of the white lines when there are no cars in sight…and actually make it to the other side in one piece. No little flashing walking dude sign to tell me when to go. What do you know?
Contemplation Piece: Similar to what we tell our children when it comes to sex, we have the right to say “no.” We have the right to say “enough.” If we fail to say it and stand up for our self, we are likely to suffer abuse. Is there enough suffering in the world now?
We have the right to not go along with what others tell us we “must“ do. We do not have to open our front door when someone knocks. We do not have to be friends with everybody on the internet. We do not have to answer the phone each and every time it rings.
We do not have to stay indoors when we need to be taking a walk in nature to clear our heads. You know…nature…the great outdoors–where life changes with the next drop of rain that falls from the sky, and the rest of creation exists in a much happier and truly free sense of un-forced harmony–rather unbothered by the whole imposed safety issue (which we pay for, because it is ‘so practical‘). We can dream, and we can dare, and we have the right to expect change, bottom line.
