A Daily Look Within – Day 3
A Daily Look Within – Day 3

Earth – “Grounding Earth” – Body in relation, time with nature, outdoors, trees, flowers
When we think of Earth as a basic, grounding element, it is often difficult to separate our ties to the physical planet upon which we live, the soil medium from which seed life emerges, and the spiritual and energetic relationships that serve to connect us as part of earthly nature and beyond. Yet ties to all of these aspects converge to make us how we are. Are you curious yet? It helps to be.
Consider time long before our own. Ancient sages share a written legacy that often emerges from being buried deep within the earth, to let us know there are ages of development from which we have our current experience. We may forget this lineage, of course, in the course of our daily lives. This is why we are encouraged to remember or revisit–to reflect upon–what our own connection to existence is.
None of us happens to be here randomly. However, some of us do manage to feel a sense of detachment, anxiety or dis-ease at various times. Whether it is the stress of our physical world or the fact that we are not paying attention to our roots, we can all use a little reminder, a little grounding, on occasion.
Bringing us back from a sense of unreality to a place and time where we honor and accept what is going on can be eye opening in and of itself. Unless you happen to have grounding as a goal or know how to get from point A to B confidently, our experience can lend itself to a continual sense of disconnection, or a constant state of discord and disrespect, which can lead to illness. This does not have to be; and we can choose to change and become more grounded and secure on our journey.
