Blinded (and Saved) by the Light

near-death-experience

Brinkley shares three of the biggest lessons he learned from his three near death experiences and his hospice work.

At death, most people will be treated to a panoramic review of their life. To make sure you make the most of your allotted time on this earth, always remember–and stay focused on—your mission in life.

Forgiveness is key. “You become every person you’ve ever encountered, “ Brinkley warns. “You judge you.” The bottom line is that all in all, it’s a fair and just universe.

Humor is critical, especially when it come to the afterlife.  You can’t really sweat the small stuff  once you’ve been dead. Laugh after laugh is the subtext for life after life.

Throughout the show, Brinkley talks about the common themes that death brings up. “Everybody wants closure,” he says.  And most people want to know if it hurts to die. “I study ways to reduce that fear,” he says. Not only does he reassure the dying that there is no end, he also counsels the living to make the most of their lives, moment by precious moment. His recurring mantra, both on the show and on his website is “You are a great, mighty, powerful spiritual being with dignity, direction, and purpose.”  If your spark of purpose feels extinguished, let this show set you back on fire.
