Conscious Career – Day 12
What am I most passionate about? In other words, what tasks do you enjoy that energize you or that you enjoy doing so much that you lose track of time?
What is my proudest professional accomplishment? As you reflect on the situation, take stock of what you did – what actions you took. Then be sure to consider the impact you made as a result of what you did.
When you are finished determining the three components, talent, passion and impact, add them together to claim your Unique Promise of Value.
Applying Your Unique Promise of Value
During the “Career Mind Mastery: Discover Brand You” course that I developed with Tom Cassidy, we discuss the Unique Promise of Value formula as it relates to discovering your personal brand. We also teach how to apply it to the way you introduce yourself, especially during a career transition.
Here are some of the other ways to apply your Unique Promise of Value during a career transition:
Resume – Your resume is a great place to weave in your Unique Promise of Value. This is when you will find it most often referred to as your Personal Brand. You want people to see how you add value in the summary section at the top of your resume. Tell them right away and let them see proof of that value in the accomplishments that you add into your resume.
Interview – Can you answer the question “Why Should I Hire You?” If you know your uniqueness, you will be better equipped to answer that question.
