Exploring Your Extraordinary Life – Day 13

Exploring Your Extraordinary Life Day 13

By Laura Erdman-Luntz

#7.  Living an Extraordinary Life means leaving excuses behind…”I don’t have enough time/money/support to do what I want.”  Merely excuses.  There is always something you can do to move toward your dream.

When I begin to hear these excuses from my clients, I interrupt, quite rudely, and say, “blah, blah, blah”.  These excuses were your way of keeping yourself from succeeding, in the past.  Your first step is to stop saying them!  Then you need to stop believing them by doing something.  If you want your dream, you must move beyond your excuses.

Now, if you are sitting there thinking, “but Laura, I really don’t have enough time/money/support.”  I ask you, can you think of one thing you can do without those things to get even one step closer to your dream?  Just one small thing?  Of course, there is!

And then… allow these stories to inspire you…

If you feel you don’t have enough time, think of Toni Morrison, an award-winning author.  She wrote her first best seller as a working, single mother.  She wrote on scraps of paper in the cracks of her life, sometimes while standing in the grocery store line.

If you feel you don’t have enough money, think of Walt Disney who was turned down by over one hundred banks to fund his fabulous kingdom.  I believe he also went bankrupt seven times during his illustrious career.

If you feel you don’t have enough support, think of Jack Canfield and Victor Hansen, creators of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series.  They were turned down by 162 publishers!  The series went on to be the best selling series of all time AND was the first book in history to sell one million copies in a day!
