Feng Shui from the Inside, Out – Day 10
Life force is nothing if not insistent. Infants are sometimes born lacking critical organs, organs that are necessary to life, and yet, even severely compromised, these immature and incomplete bodies will grasp at life. This too is like the trees. I’m sure that you have seen trees sprouting in the most unlikely places: on rooftops where there is no soil at all, on cement walls, on expressways. They may not attain the maturity of a well-placed specimen, but they will live a life where few others might survive. This is what we do as well. In fact, we rely on the resilience of our bodies so much that we tend to ignore their small complaints well past the comfort level of our bodies.
Placed on the center of the wall that is to the left of the Entry Wall, the Body /Well-being facet of the bagua is usually easily seen upon entering a room, yet it is still not front and center as are the three most focused-upon spots in Feng Shui on the wall opposite the Entry. We take our bodies for granted unless we have been give reason not to. That is why it is so critical to ensure that the energy in this particular area is as good as it can possibly be because it needs to support our body’s unconscious drive to live as we, from time to time, ignore or forget about it.
Plants are good for activating the energy in this area if there are windows to provide light…but plants need to be cared for so if that’s not who you are and you know darn well that you’ll forget to water, go for artwork…or silk plants. I know that gardeners and florists alike balk at the idea of silk plants and flowers but guess what, the subconscious mind doesn’t! The subconscious mind is childlike in nature and takes things at face value. Better a silk plant than a dying one, especially in the Body /Well-being area of a room.
