Feng Shui from the Inside, Out – Day 20

Some abstract artworks create shapes that are filled with references to reality, with faces and bodies and beings that are not ‘really’ there but which you, from a certain angle, can see. These works stimulate your brain, teasing it to make sense of something that isn’t even there…kind of like life.

My very first Feng Shui teacher, whom I chose specifically because her approach was informed by her Native American roots, used to caution her students not to limit their possibilities by making specific statements about what they wanted to have come to them because, after all, they might unintentionally close the door on some even more amazing possibilities that they were simply unable to imagine at that point in their lives. When she wanted something of the Universe she would always leave the door open, “This,” she would say, “I’d like this or something better.”
