Feng Shui from the Inside, Out – Day 29
The remedy for an acute space clearing is quick, easy and uncomplicated. Keep it handy! Go to your nearest gift shoppe – or go online – and find the highest pitched chime that you can, preferably a metal chime mounted horizontally on a wood base. Buy it, bring it home and put it someplace handy. Much as a fire extinguisher is perfectly suited to its job , there’s nothing else that can do the job of immediate-need space clearing as well as a high pitched tone can because sound penetrates everything and breaks up that energy so fast and so well that it’s as if it were never there in the first place. One good solid hit in the center of the affected room is all it takes.
For entrenched bad energies – the sort of thing you might encounter when an angry teen-ager finally moves out – you’ll want something that incorporates actual cleaning. And salt should be involved. Salt, a crystalline energy, absorbs anything and everything including bad energy. Sprinkle it liberally on the floor, on rugs, to vacuum up, add it to wash water. Anything you can wash, wash. Anything you can’t wash, air out, outside, preferably on a sunny day.
Note: I don’t prefer sage used in interior spaces as it creates a light film on walls, much as candles do. Sage, a Native American tool for energy clearing, was designed to be used outdoors and in spaces that had a lot more airflow than do our homes today. It’s a personal preference.
