Feng Shui from the Inside, Out – Day 9
Feng Shui from the Inside, Out? Day 9
Connection: Part 2
If you have a sense of who you are in the world, then you are connected. Connected to what, you might ask. Connected, in a broad sense, to Life itself, to the Ubuntu – the energy of humanity. If you feel that connection then you are comfortable in your own skin most of the time yet sometimes even the most grounded individual, comfortable in his or her own skin, can feel somewhat unconnected, a little lost. It is at times such as that when pictures and objects that inspire you come in very handy, serving to remind you of who you are.
But that very centered sense of self is something that each one of us is born with. We come into this world with a great deal of energetic integrity…but we also come into this world still very much attached to the energy of our mothers and we stay very much a part of her energetic field for many years if she is present. In ancient Chinese medicine when a child under seven years of age (there’s that number again!) was ill, it was the mother who was treated.
Young children who are deprived of their mothers as infants or young children may end up with somewhat less of a sense of being supported in the world. This often manifests as issues with weight or with money. Being a part – feeling a part, both physically and energetically – of a nurturing, caring, larger being adds dramatically to a sense of security that stays in place throughout the life.
