Love, Compassion, Joy, Equanimity
Today I challenge you to take an innovative leap. While allowing the associations and connections among the four realms that you have been exploring, focus on the Buddhist practices of love, compassion, joy, and equanimity as though they are the highest form of each level. Consider that the highest form of the earth realm expression is love. The highest form of the water realm expression is compassion. The highest form of fire realm expression is joy. The highest form of air realm expression is equanimity. The four elements are an easy association to help you recall the essence of what you have learned about these four different themes. Indigenous wisdom also connects these themes to the four directions and call the system a a medicine wheel:
