Illuminate the Committee in Your Head – Day 4
The basic premise is that whenever we experience trauma, a part of our vital essence separates from us in order to survive the experience by escaping the full impact of the pain….If part of our vital essence has fled, how can we bring it back? Seeking an answer to this question, I turned to the ancient spiritual path of shamanism. There I found powerful techniques for bringing back parts of the life-energy that might otherwise remain out of reach for years.

Lastly, and most hopefully, a subpersonality may be a latent skill or gift. The latent quality can come to your awareness through the retrieval of a power animal during a shamanic journey, receiving a gift during a dream or visualization, or taking one of the reaction-based, repression-based, or wound-based subpersonalities you have identified, and working with it to transform. (We will do a subpersonality transformation exercise later in this series.) By recognizing, naming, and working with subpersonalities, a conformist tendency can become adaptability, a rebel tendency can become innovation, and eventually the conformist and the rebel are able to work together under your leadership.
