Week 2: True Nature of the MIND, Inner World of Yoga Journey with Wendy
Today’s practice strengthens the Inner Light of the Heart.
Although most of us equate the self with the physical body and the mind and assume the brain runs it all often concluding the brain holds the center of our consciousness, YOGA sees consciousness in a different light, The Light of the Heart.
Science confirmed about a year ago that the HEART has its own neurological system. Yoga has known this for millennium.
The energetic center for Heart, Anahata chakra, is located center chest along the spine, and is also the Seat of the Soul.
How does this affect the mind? If heart can neurologically inform the brain as science has shown, then it follows that by calming, strengthening, stabilizing and balancing our body’s nervous system, the heart can better inform the brain.
Yoga works on the body’s energy system and therefore on the heart organ directly as well as enliven and strengthen our conscious connection to our vital life force within — our individual soul.
Body/Mind/Spirit always are affected simultaneously. You cannot work on one without involving the others. All layers of our being are impacted by our thoughts, words, actions, and experiences with subsequent rising emotions, and resulting psychological, physical and spiritual impact.
“If the brain is the command center of the body, the heart is the commander.”
